Many times, this is caused by a muscle that is in spasm. And worrying about it and focusing on it will make it not go away because the anxiety will continue to tighten the muscle. These types of things usually disappear very rapidly once a person sees a doctor and gets confirmation that there is nothing wrong. I've had them a couple of times. First time, I thought I had thrush lol or a sore in my throat. Doc couldn't see anything. It was gone next day after that muscle relaxed. It's similar to getting a knotted muscle in your back which aches until it gets massaged.
My husband has had trouble swollowing 4 a team years now its around his Adams apple he has 2 have water 2 swollowing food down all test have come back clear any ideas please peep

Hi Ive had a problem like this for the last two months, occasionally when swallowing a drink it feels like Im tearing a spot left of the adams apple and slighty above. Also realized I can feel it when laying on my back as a dull ache.
This is most likely your cause, rule it out before getting expensive diagnostics done.

I had pain just during swallowing every time I swallowed, took a few days of this to recover. Keep massaging after pain goes away to stave it off.
