Have you all had any history of back injury, herniated discs, spinal muscle strains? Sometimes the back pain can radiate into the pelvis/flank area and be misconstrued to be internal organs and/or hernias when it is a thoracic or lumbar spine/neurological problem. Be pushy, persistent and firm with the doctors. HMOs try to get you to give up so they don't have to pay. Keep trying! Good luck.

THe phrase stones are too small to hurt is not correct. I Have had kidney stones for 2 years and have flare ups all the time. The stones are only 4 mm. my urologist stated its like a nail ina tiny area tring to come out. SO good luck.

I am having right-sided abdominal pain and mid back pain. It it a dull, heavy feeling. My urine is a darker color also. I am also having bronchitis and asthma but that is another issue. I am wondering if maybe it is my kidneys or liver. Any ideas helpful.

I dont know if this is the type of pain any of you are expierienceing but for the past few weeks I have had this pain off and on. It started in my lower right pekvic region and extends over my hip, flank and back. It is a burning pain and it feels hot when I touch it. You know when you have the flu and your skin hurts, its like that but 100 times worse. It lasts the night sometimes and is gone in the morning until a couple days later. I have had kidney stones six time in my life. I am 30 years old with two kids. It does not feel like having kidney stones and I do not feel like I have to run to the ER but it is very uncomfortable. Any feedback would be great.

This site makes me cry just knowing other out their feel like me. I am 24, and have 1 child. I have severe endometriosis, have had ovarian cysts, and 2 kidney stones. The last 2 years of my life I have only had maybe 3 days that I didn't have any pain. The doctors just don't act concerned. They give me pain medicine, but don't do much more. I get so depressed sometimes. I don't want to live in pain anymore!

I have had a pain in the right side and back on and off for over 7 years, i had a hysterectomy in 2002. I had endometriosis and ovarian cysts. The doctors thought this would end the pain, but it did not. It has been pretty constant for the past couple of months. I had a CT scan a few weeks ago and it showed no kidney stones or gall stones. I had a colonoscopy last July and showed nothing. The doctor actually told me it couldn't be anything too bad or iot would have killed me by now!

It hurts worse when sitting and I often feel very bloated, i have even wondered if it could be related to the endometriosis I had years ago but that would seem unlikely since I have had a hysterectomy?? I am at my wits end.

I have exactly the symtoms described above. For 5 months now I have had pain in my right abdominal area, and flank. In the beggining it came and go, now it´s all the time. Sometimes it´s stronger, but it´s always there. In december last year I have had a big cyst on my right ovary, but it´s gone for good months ago, and doctors say it has nothing to do with my abdominal pain now. I´ve done abdominal and pelvic US, C/T, blood testing and all shows up normal. Some doctors have told me it´s anxiety, but I know something is wrong. I´m not crazy, I have pain and no test shows anything.
If anyone get any answer, when feeling the same, please let me know.

Thank you so much!
Flora

Ok, so about 2 1/2 weeks ago I was talking to someone and all of a sudden it felt like I was punched in the lower right side of my body (about where a kidney would be). It nearly knocked the wind out of me. I then had pain in my right leg, which I thought was going to split open! Thank goodness the leg pain went away and (knock on wood) hasn't returned. Shortly there after I started getting pain in my lower back, where the kidneys would be, and up my right to just around the shoulder blade. A few days after that my lower right side of my pelvis started to hurt and then when I went to the bathroom I had blood in my pee. I went to the E.R. but they found nothing wrong with me at all. I went to get a second opinion and all they found was an elevated white blood cell count. Neither doctor did any scans or anything else! My second doctor scheduled me for an IVP later this week, but the pain in my lower right side is what is annoying. It hurts when I laugh, sit, stand and walk. If anyone knows what the heck is going on, please comment!

Wow I can't believe how many people have same symptoms. I have 2 stones 1 6mm 1 is 4mm. But it is not the stones causing my discomfort. I have had this for over 1 month. I have had U/S, CT, IVP with contrast. All show stones that would NOT cause this pain. I find it is worse after meals. Have lost 10 lbs. Cannot touch rt side just under rib. Going to see GI doctor next. Urologist thinks it maybe the way to go.

I am having the same pain. The pain come and go at first I thought maybe it was gas bubbles. All i do just is lay on soft pillows and pray that it is not anything serious.

Hello,

Been reading these posts looking for answers for my hubby. It apprears that a lot of folks have trouble w/stones, thought I'd pass along something I've learned from my friend. She has had more problems w/stones than anyone I've ever known~ real bad. After several procedures (18 surgeries in 16 years) her Dr. asked her if she'd be willing to try something for him. She agreed. He asked her to drink one CocaCola a day, every day. Just one, don't miss any days. She has done so for at least 4 years and has yet to have another stone. Interesting eh? Don't know if it will work for any of you, but thought you might be interested in knowing about her experience.

Best regards,

Judy

Hello everyone,
yes sometimes you can start out with such severe pain and not able to talk and also vomiting but that is not always the case.... I am 40 yrs old and have had kidney stones since ive been 16 years old. There are many times that i do experience this kind of pain but i also at times have just had pain that comes and goes, the pain starts in lower back on either side then can also radiate down the from to the groin area. They surely aren't pleasant and more than not are extremely painful...
