I went to the doctor yesterday and found out this pain under my ribs is shingles.  He gave me a prescription for zovirax which helped almost immediatly.  I was so releived.

Have you thought of pancreatitis? The most painful thing ever, and dangerous too. Get yourself checked.

I have this also, it is hurting so bad on and off. When it does come it kind of throbs with pain, it also sometimes takes my breath away and i struggle to breath. Adding pressure helps a little but not a lot. I'm going to the doctors soon so if i find anything out then i will re-post and let you know what it could possibly be for you also. -Amelia

I have experienced the same pains/symptoms as you have described with no known cause and doctors dont know or give me different opinions none of which have helped and the pain has no pattern and is random in both severity and frequency. Are you able to give me anymore information?? Sometimes its so painful in my ribs and others not so bad. I have had it since i was about 14-15 years old and i am now 23. X-rays showed nothing. its just an uncomfortable ache!! pain killers are my only answer for it when it occurs.

You should ALL check out intestinal diseases, i'm currently dealing with an IBD they THINK its Crohn's disease but i also have GERD, doctor describes my case as GERD on ROIDS because it is so severe LOL but i have a mild burning sensation right below my ribs on the left side not really on my side just to the left not in the center, which i've found out that your stomach actually sits towards the left side so my burning pain is from acid reflux/GERD/ulcer one of those three.

i am not sure if you are still on this site but your symptoms of this disease describe exactly what happens to me so i was wondering if you ever remembered the name of this disease so i can do some research on it. this would be very much appreciated :)

I feel the same pain after I go.to bed. I was recently told by the physical therapist that my pelvic bone is tilted slightly. My muscles are loose and can't support my pelvis enough to keep it straight. Im thinking it has somthing to do with that. I was given instructions on excersizes but never followed through. I also have a new mattress. The dull achy pain comeswhen I goww to bed.

Hello Saray, I have the same exact pain. Starting under my left breast, rib cage, radiating to the left side of my back shoulder blade. It comes and goes but sometimes lasts for days or weeks. Have you found out what it is?

I had my gallbladder out 12/4/14 im getting an endoscopy procedure done next Friday morning, would it pick up pancreas issues?

seriousy you just described what I have dealt with for years... The pain in my upper left abod. under my rib cage that brings me to tears, no position helps, then radiates heat and pain to my lower right of my back. The pain & episdode isnt everyday .. however when it hits/ starts it will be on going for a range of 7-14 days and come back every 1.5 months. After that happens for 3-4 episodes, whelp then its gone for awhile and the pattern repeats. I have had internal and external Ultrasounds, an endoscopy - colonoscopy, bloodwork, urine work, cannot even count how many General doctor and ER visits I have had just to find an answer. Keep in mind I am a woman & these systoms/issues started when I was a 23yrs old... I am now 26 yrs old. And have officially given up on testing/specialists as noone has ever been able to give me a legit answer or solution :/

Curious to know if you have every heard of anything?

I've been dieting since Christmas, drinking 2 liters of water a day, but for the last two days have had pain in my left rib cage. Hurting when I take a breath in and moving. Any suggestions, what could it be?
