I am encourage and discouraged at the same time reading the posts below. I think the problem is one of three things. Crohns, gas back-up, or a local mild infection/sensitivity (intestines are sensitive anyway) in the upper intestine. I am getting tested for each + an up and down scope again. I will have my doctor prescribe me something for each and I will try them for a month each "separately". I believe the key is doing one thing at a time, and seeing the results before trying something different. I will post my results.

I had my gall bladder removed ten days ago. 5 days ago I felt good. 4 days ago I was in A&E in utter agony. Today I stoop when I walk because of the pain. I limp. But it's not as intense as the first day. I Discharged myself after no one could find a cause.
Reading your posts fills me with dread. I can't bear this pain forever.

I found immediate relief bt taking hcl and choline and bile salts in a after gallbladder removal kit at gallbladder attack website. I do not work for that website. You can look at the products they recommend and buy them at a local heakth store yourself!! It worked for me!! Good luck.

I'm so discouraged to read all these post!. I'm 2 months post-op and I have the same under the rib and thru the back pain that keeps me up all night and is aggravated when I YAWN! REALLY?! (I have yet to laugh or sneeze, but dreading it). No one has mention this, but I also have a stabbing pain in my right shoulder that hasn't gone away since the surgery.

Two days after my surgery I was in excruciating pain that I want to the ER. Every time I took a breath in, I felt like I was being stabbed in my right side. I could not lay down to save my life. So I went to ER. They wanted to do a CAT scan, but I was unable to lay down on my back. I couldn't take a breath in at all!!!. It took 2 shots of morphine and a shot a Valium to relax me enough to do the 10 min CAT scan. Result - they found nothing. But that horrendous pain finally ebbed about 7 days post-op, and I finally was able to lay down in a bed around 9-days out.

During my post-op check up with the surgeon, I told him about the pain in my side and not being able to breathe. He asked "did the pain radiate up to your shoulder?" I was floored because YES! it did. I thought it was from sleeping sitting up and leaning on my shoulder!!. He knew all about it. He say it was from the gas that put into you during surgery to move your organs out of the way. That gas gets trapped and can move up against your diaphragm (which is why I couldn't breathe). Having the gas there can also cause the pain to radiate up to the shoulder because it aggravates nerve in your chest area. HAD he TOLD me all this BEFORE the surgery, I would not have been so scared and gone to the ER. But now 2 months later, this cramping/stabbing/aching pain and the shoulder pain is not going away and now I'm worried it never will.

wow, I can't believe the amount of people who suffer from this. My gallbladder has been out for about 4 years now and I can't take the pain at times. I end up at the ER and my liver enzymes elevate. Dr's just can't figure it out and I hate not knowing what it could be and going thru so much testing. I hope they can find something soon because it's such a horrible feeling.

I got my gallbladder out 3 years ago and had issues. I now take digestive enzymes from the brand "new roots" and its helped me out the most with changing my diet to wheat free and dairy free. I take two digestive enzymes before every meal and I'm fine. But never do this with cheap digestive enzymes as they are not as healthy and harder to digest while taking them that often. :)

I have your exact pains after gallbladder removal just 2 years ago. It feels like I have bruised ribs and wearing a bra drives me crazy. The bruised rib feeling was what caught my attention to have my gallbladder checked. It was 95% filled with stones and literally felt like a bag of marbles unDer my rib cage. The pain down my right side afterwards was diagnosed as IBS but is a rare problem for me.

I too have the IBS diagnosis and it's gotten worse. The other thing they said was that there were many adhesions......all I know is that the pain is real and I also have elevated liver enzymes. Something is up....

I had my surgery in 2014 and have had lots of discomfort. Now comes the sharp pains 2 years later. After I eat I get these sharp pains often times right away. I had bile duct repair with my gall bladder surgery. I have a long scar and the pain is in the area of this scar and radiates down my right side.
I can not sleep on either of my sides without feeling discomfort and pressire. I have to sleep on my back. I have gained a significant amount of weight around my midsection that wont go away.
Any helpful suggestions?

I had my gallbladder removed on Aug. 4, 2016 and for the last couple days have been dealing with what feels like a pulled muscle on my.upper right hand side (basically right under my breast) and it radiates to my back. I feel this when stretching, leaning to the right, and when I sneeze or cough. I'm going to.call my surgeon's office tomorrow to see what they think, but the doctor did mention that my intestines showed lots of adhesions during surgery and said during my follow up on the 19th that I might benefit from a colonoscopy (so I'll also be calling my referring GI doc just to see what she thinks as well). I can't imagine dealing with this pain for years to come (as it is I dealt with gallstone pain for 6 years). I'll write again once I hear something from the doctor(s). I have been avoiding picking up my toddler because of this pain... it breaks my heart.
