I have this lump near my rectum that's excruciatingly painful. I've had to be on my stomach or side most of the time just so I can bear the pain. I saw the doctor today and he prescribed some anti-biotics and pain killer. The pain killer (Vicadin) is not working at all.
The lump is now getting bigger and more painful. Is there a point where I can pop the lump with a needle to offer me some relief? I've missed work today already and would like to be functional again soon.

I reckon that antibiotics should do the work in a few days. It is probably an ordinary pimple or an ingrown hair that got inflamed. I get these big and painful ones all the time.
However, mine appear in the groins. I have had one for ages just lying there when it suddenly accumulated, started growing and hurting and it was unnoticeable under the skin all the time but I could feel it when touching.
When it started painful, I went to see a doctor thinking she would cut it and get the stuff out but the nurse told me there’s no need to and that antibiotics should take care of it.
I got antibiotic pills as well as antibiotic ointment to apply on the area. The swelling was down in a day or two and the stuff I had under the skin before disappeared.
So, I don’t think this thing will mature if you got antibiotics and I reckon it’s better that way. If you pop it now, it may appear again. It is better for antibiotics to kill those accumulated bacteria down under. Squeezing and popping could only lead to further irritation and infection.

I have the same problem sort of, however mine is inside of the anus, doesnt hurt to touch, but feels like a little lump when i move it between my fingers! Its black aswell, but i feel no pain with it...
