Hello, my son is 26 years old and I’m afraid that he is becoming paranoid. He was never acting like this, and I don’t know what caused this behavior. He is constantly afraid that people around him just want to set him up and that they all have sinister motives. How can I help him?

Hello, my father is suffering from paranoid personality disorder, so I know how does it feel like when a person that close to you thinks that you’re only trying to deceive him. He is paranoid since I was a little girl, so I’m used to it. You should try to talk to your son, because he might be having some personal problems that are making him behave this way. Paranoid persons are usually easy to insult, and they don’t know how to forget. They often think they’re being followed, and that someone is trying to poison them. I remember when my father verbaly attacked a waitress because he thaught he smelled a rat poison in his cofee. It was so embarrassing! He also accused my mother several time of cheating on him, just because she wasn’t answering the phone.
