Hi,

I have these results from an ultrasound. "The patient is post menopausal. I suspect the right adnexal cyst may represent a paraovarian cyst. However, the uterine fibroid results in poor visualization of the cul-de-sac whih is directly adjacent to the right adnexal cyst. Therefore MRI is recommended for further evaluation"

My left ovary was not observed. The paraovarian cyst is 5.3 cm and the fibroid is described as large. The ultrasound showed that my bladder and kidneys were unremarkable, except for one tiny 1cm parapelvic lower pole renal cyst.

Now my doctor has said it is nothing to worry about and all but of course I am worried. I may not actually get an MRI because they are so overbooked and there is a waiting list of about 6 months. I am worried that I may have ovarian cancer and that if I wait six months for it to be confirmed, it will be just more advanced. I don't have any particularly painful symptoms, but I just dont feel quite right. I do have a large vein on the top of my thigh leg (kind of like when I was pregnant), which makes sense if there is something in my uterus and frequently feel like I have UTI's and kind of fullness or pressure near my ovary. But this seems more apparent, now that I know that I have a cyst, so I might be imaginging more.

Any reassurance you can give me? Is it easy to tell a tumour from a fibroid on ultrasound? And also a cyst from ovarian cancer on an ultrasound? Do you think that I should I try and find a place to have an MRI done privately rather than waiting the 6 months to have a test?

Thanks
I am scheduled for surgery this up coming week i have been diagnosed as having a para-ovarian cyst that is bleeding and feeding on my right side near my ovary. They are schuled to open a my c- section from 21 years ago my c-section is from the navel down.
