What changes on heart causes pericardits? How does person with pericardits feel like? I’ve heard that some viruses may cause secondary pericardits and that it can’t be healed. Please tell me more about this disease. Can it cause heart attack?

I know a person that had pericarditis. It may occur with not known reason. Pain in pericarditis is sharp and differs from pain caused by angina. As I know, pericarditis may be consequence of heart attack, but I’m not sure if it can cause one. When heart is affected with pericarditis, there is increased amount of fluid in the sac called pericardium that surrounds the heart. It can be treated with pain killers. I think that surgery is required in some cases.

It's an irritation of the sac that covers the heart. It has many causes, but sometimes it is a virus. It causes a rubbing sound if you have a stethoscope (sometime a little squeak). Anti inflammatorys help, like Ibuprofin. But there are stronger meds that a doctor could give you too. It is always good to be seen by a doctor to make sure that your heart was also not affected by this virus.

The pain of Pericarditis does not usually increase with taking a deep breath.
