Yes, it is quite likely that your masturbation could have caused the bleeding, but I would have expected the bleeding to have occoured almost immediately (depending how you masturbated). But if you masturbated just before you went to sleep, it is possible you didn't notice, particularly if you didnt gush. Also, if your fingers didn't penetrate very deeply, then the hymen damage might have been more from pressure, maybe increased by your orgasm. As you haven't masturbated lately it could be that partial hymen damage had healed, and has now ruptured more. You can check the state of your hymen by looking, using a hand-mirror.
But it also might be that your orgasm brought on your period, as both have hormone connections. Also if there was a considerable time since your masturbation and the bleeding, it sounds more like a period. How is the bleeding different from your usual period? Have you your usual period symptoms?
I hope this helps as a start.
Well masturbation could cause bleeding although it has never happened to me. I'm not sure if it could break your hymen but maybe it could although I'm not sure if it would be a lot of blood. I'm not a virgin and never bled my first time or anytime after that. If I did it was so little I didn't notice.
You are only 16 so your period could be late due to your age. Sometimes in your teen years periods can be irregular for no particular reason but other reasons can be stress, change in weight, diet or exercise routine or other problems.
If you are a virgin, you really shouldn't have much to worry about. You could still have an infection not transmitted through sexual contact especially if you have been masturbating and not having clean hands.
