Same exact thing here: tingling sensation to the right of my spine. I have neck pain, too. My doctor gave me a muscle relaxer and prescribed PT bc I had told her I had been in a couple of car accidents as a teen. We will see how that goes, but I think I should see a neurologist instead. Some people think it's a spiritual thing...

wow you should tell me about what you know about it being a spiritual thing. my friend told me it's your "inner knowing" (can be different places for everyone's body (just we all have it between left scapula and spine) and if you're not aligned with it it might happen. I have it too. I think it's because I smoke and I know I shouldn't at the same time. Is anyone else doing things they "know" they shouldn't be doing?

I too have the same thing so I thought I would do a little digging, I do have back problems herniated disc and other issuse. I have found this.
Intercostal neuralgia
Intercostal neuralgia is a rare pain condition involving the intercostal nerves that supply the muscles between the ribs. In patients with intercostal neuralgia, bands of pain around the rib cageare experienced. The pain is usually intermittent and spasmodic. Intensity can vary, depending on a number of factors. This condition is usually treated by a neurologist, which is a physician who specializes in conditions involving the nerves. Treatment usually also involves a pain specialist who helps address the associated pain.
Patients can develop intercostal neuralgia in the wake of an injury that damages the nerves or as a result of a degenerative disease that pinches or otherwise damages the nerves. Typically, people experience pain while breathing, coughing, and laughing. They may also experience pain during exertion. Intercostal neuralgia can manifest as tingling, numbness, itchiness, or pain and sometimes all of these sensations are experienced at various times. In some cases, the pain is searing and is sometimes described as being “like a lightning bolt."

For about three weeks I have had the same periodic tingling sensation (no pain or itching) under my shoulder blade to the left of my spine (at my bra line). Everything I've researched has come up as an early symptom of MS which is why I should never google these things! I was actually somewhat relieved to find this thread. Mine also seems worse after taking a hot shower. Has anyone else experienced this?

After feeling this strange tingly sensation in the same spot on and off for a very long time - in desperation I put the symptoms into google search and came across all these people with teh same feeling. Mine is just under my left shoulder blade. I must say I was a little encouraged to see so many people with teh same thing - however, there does not seem to be an answer either. I wondered was it the beginning of shingles but mine has gone on for so long and I have had no other symptons of singles that I really am not sure. Has any one ever got an actual answer and any remedy?

Thank you so much. I had a mole removed years ago and it started shortly after. I thought at first it was healing but as time went on I wasn't sure. It seemed to come and go so I never really persued it. Now, it seems to be a little more intense and hard to ignore so I was getting scared. Thanks again and now I can tell my doctor about this.

This could be a result of a shoulder impingement. This means that the acromion is rubbing against the tendon and causing pressure on your shoulder blade. In my case, the shoulder blade, due to this impingement, was digging into my mid back muscles and causing the tingling and pain. I had no idea that it was my shoulder causing my mid back pain, mainly because I was not experiencing shoulder pain. This injury was a result of over compensation of my right shoulder. Side note: I do vigorous heavy lifting including dumbbell bench press, pull-ups and a lot of pushups everyday. I am a personal trainer and had no idea that I was overcompensating when I was lifting heavy weights. Working with a physical therapist to strengthen both shoulders may help with this
