Last December a small pea-sized bump appeared above the anal opening. It hurt for almost a week but the pain lessened near the end of the week. I didn't see a doctor because the pain was declining, so I thought it was getting better. The bump stayed there about a month before it finally disappeared.
I thought that was the end of that and I don't know if they are connected but I mention this because about two weeks ago a lump appeared partially inside and protruding outside my anus. I started having trouble with bowel movements and at one point, it was really hard and painful. This happened once. The lump went away within a week and the major pain stopped however, I still feel a slight pain down there and even though the lump is gone, I still feel there could be a problem because I still have trouble using the bathroom and I am afraid the tissue will protrude again and cause more pain.
I've done a lot of research and I don't have any blood in my stool or discolorations. However, there is ocassional burning in the area even when I'm not using the bathroom.
Is this a hemmorhoid or something else? And could the problem in December be related to this one? They were in two completely different locations and different shaped. The one in December didn't really affect my bowel movements because it was above the opening.

Hi:
I have hemms that are always present, but not painful. The pea-sized bump that you described does not sound like hemms. I am assuming that your trouble with bowl movements is associated with the pain that you experience at that time. If so, this sounds more like hemms. Hemms are not necessarily hard. They are softer and pain is the real issue. They protrude from the anus. The wouldn't be anything that was growing from the skin. I hope this helps. I would talk to a doctor about the pea-shaped bump, which could possibly be something else. It's definitely worth checking into. You need answers there. Let us know what the results of your testing and/or consult with a doctor reveal.
