I am also diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. The medication I am currently on is Risperdal and Prozac which may have some effect on my sleep disturbances. You're not crazy at all. I've been trying to find answers asking relatives and friends. Relatives said I would shake in my sleep and I have no memory of it until I wake up with my arms and hands shaking. I've had two head traumas in the exact same spot from hitting my head on cement. One when I was a baby and the other at 16 years of age. I've experienced some headaches but very inconsistent, some tolerable, some not. Also, I have never gotten an MRI or CT scan done. I was told to not worry about it and that I'm fine. Epilepsy also runs in my family so I do not know if what I am experiencing is the result of head trauma, medication or genes. My aunt and cousin both were diagnosed with epilepsy. Sometimes I would wake up with my mouth sore from tongue biting and cheek biting. I do experience confusion, lack of concentration and fatigue as well. Not trying to be a hypochondriac but explaining the things I've experienced. Definitely, if you have worries, set up an appointment with a neurologist or get a referral from you Primary Care Physician to see a specialist. This is what I'm going to do since I now have insurance. Be healthy and stay strong folks.

I do not have any disorder such as OCS ADHD or Bipolar Disorder, but I have been experiencing this my whole life. Usually at points in my life where I experience some kind of mental or physical change, sometimes stressfull times. It's nothing to be scared of, even though sometimes it is pretty intense. Look into Astral Projecting and you'll see that we are experiencing the first couple stages. We are even able to take control over the situation and if we practice we can have out of body experiences. Psychedelics such as LSD or mushrooms can trigger this feeling as well so if you plan to trip make sure you are well hydrated, have slept well, and eaten well before your trip so it is less likely to happen because it can be pretty intense and scary in middle of a trip

I have never been diagnosed with any disorders such as adhd or bipolar disorder , OCS etc. but this has been happening to me lately. I went to my doctor and talked to him about it. I didn't really know how to describe it other than I feel like I've grabbed an electric wire but it's inside my body. I have also been extremely exhausted when it happens. it usually is when I sleep on my back, but sometimes also on my side. it seems like it is usually when I first start to fall asleep. I have had sleep disorders, not falling asleep even though extremely tired for years, but nothing like this. this is very scary. I'm much older than some of you, 52, and have high bloodpressure and other health issues of this sort. It was very bad a week or so ago. my first thought was that I was having a stroke, and then maybe some kind of siezures. my doctor seems to think that I am stopping breathing in my sleep. I have found that I can bring myself out of it by taking deep breaths and trying to make myself relax. this has really scared me alot. I know my heart will pound sometimes for an hour or more after I wake up. I have also gotten to the point that I am actually afraid to go to sleep because I am afraid that I may not wake up if I do. the last time this happened it started out the same as normal but I felt that I was slipping into unconsciousnous. I know I've thought I was hollaring for my husband to help me, but it wasn't coming out and I also couldn't move. My doctor is in the process of setting me up with a sleep doctor, but what if it doesn't happen while I'm there? hopefully I can get to the bottom of this, because it has scared me, at least, almost to death.

I also have been experiencing this. I first started off with temp changes type seizures. For instance going from being comfy in an air conditioned room to getting up and getting something out of the oven, the heat hitting me will throw me into a teeth chattering seizing freezing fit. Now, yesterday my daughter woke me in the recliner and said I was mumbling and I remember being in a dejavu type dream and remember it all, but she said my left eye was wide open and rolled back in my head and I was twitching and was jerking and moaning. Hours afterward now my neck and spine are soooo sore! This is scary!!
I've had a lack of sleep lately because I fear sleep as mostly my freezing type seizures happen when I am asleep and I wake up jerking and teeth chattering and jerking uncontrollably. Just one lil piece of me can be uncovered during the night except my face and bam! I also have SLE/Lupus, Secondary Raynauds, Neuropathy, and Fibromyalgia ontop of migraines and the CNS involvement. The Lupus has started to effect the nervous system causing the nerve damage (neuropathy). My Dr does not want to raise my Chemo as Methotrexate is such a dangerous drug already and can cause instant death anytime you take it.
So just to be on the safe side you guys may wanna get an ANA blood test to rule Lupus out. It is 3x's on the rise. Most people do not know it but things such as Antibiotics can trigger Lupus or any other drug with sulfur/sulfa can. The sun is what triggered mine. Just one blistering sunburn! So you guys be safe out there and get tested!! If you catch it early enough you wont have to be on Chemo every week like me to control my body. There are different kinds of Lupus, not everyone gets a rash. My neuro doc has put me on Lyrica 3x's a day and it is to control seizures and help with the neuro pain. I have to admit I have been taking it twice a day vs 3 times as I hate having all these drugs in me. So I am going to be good this week and take it right and see if this helps the new type of sleep seizure now, and get back in to see him as I am late on another brainwave scan..ughhh..

I have these dream all the time. I can actually kind of manipulate the dream a bit, but not full control. Was terrifying at first. But it happens when your body falls asleep but your brain wakes up. It's normal. You're only afraid because you don't have control until you fully wake up.
