I have a relative who is post herroin addicted....several years now. however the effects continue... they had a heart attack at age 40, then shortly after that, their veins in both legs collapsed. This caused a major infection, "gangrene" and they have had many skin graphs and surgeries to try to save the worst leg. They have been through almost all antibiotics available and recently took one of two that hadn't been tried. Recently, they dehydrated, causing bleeding into the urine and an infection now in the blood stream, going to the heart...although the docs.. say she wll be ok, once they give them IV treatments for 6 weeks! This leads me to beleive they may have a staff infection and its in the blood stream?
Any thoughts one this?
