I am experiencing the same. Did you get it to stop?

So glad that the shot seemed to have helped you in some manner...
I hope that all of your remaining tests came out fine.
Yes...I have sworn off shots and have kept the promise to myself...
Interestingly enough, tough. I chose to begin a round of prednisone just yesterday for 'frozen shoulder'... I am hoping that the oral steroid doesn't produce any bleeding :)

Best wishes, Gina

It stopped after 8 days and touching wood it doesn't start again. That was mid march time. I have mentioned to physio and will be telling the spine consultant when I see him in July - they need to keep a record of these types of evnts
I don't think women would be as concerned if they knew there was a possibility that the injection could trigger a bleed. Still it is better to get checked out and I thought of the investigations as another part of an overall MOT. At my age all reassurances are welcome.

The pain relief from the injection was short lived and pain returned in back and right leg. Also experiencing numb arm. Seeing spine consultant in July. I think only option will be a spinal fusion. Not sure I am ready for that yet but will wait to see what he says. I am awaiting a knee replacement too. Old age!!

I have 3 spinal fusions in my neck (it was what I got the steroid shot for before that led to the prolonged bleeding)...The surgery solved all the problems... & when they were in there, they also did a foramenectomy and took away bone spurs down my neck. I now need to have very good posture to keep pressure off remaining disc for turning my neck!

BEST WISHES! and Thank Goodness for healthcare!!!

Yes, we women deserve to have uterine bleeding and the follow up tests needed among the list of potential side effects of steroidal injections. Speaking up is the way to go!
BEST WISHES TO YOU!

I had three cortisone shots in one session. After one week started bleeding for 6 days. In the past five weeks bleeding came every other week. Had ultrasound and biopsy done. Waiting for results.

Ok, I had a hysterectomy in 2016 when my twins were 2yrs old. I'm 49 now. I just got cortisteroid shots (2) in my spine over the last month. I still have my ovaries, but no cervix/ uterus. Yesterday there was sexual activity, and afterwards I was VERY surprised to see blood all over? I had no pain, but quite the shock! I had no idea why this could possibly be happening? Has anyone else had a hysterectomy, THEN had bleeding?

Sorry, correction, my hysterectomy was in 1996........

4years ago, I got a shot in each shouldet. 2 weeke later, I started spotting, 7 years post menopausal. I had biopsy performed, that was negative. After abt. 10 days of spotting, I had a DNC. I had a bleeding polyp in the uterus. My was negative as is most, abt. 1% are cancerous. 3 wks ago, I had an injection in my right shoulder. Guess what? Tonight I passed a tiny piece of tissue and have a pink tinge on my tissue. In the pass, the gyn denied a connection, but the first question from his nurse inquired if I had received a cortisone shot. The ortho acted dumbfounded. I see him in two days. He's not getting away with dumbfounded act again.

You have hit the nail on the head here! "Dumfounded" seems to be the way these doctors have decided to play it. They all seem to be the same way. I don't get it? Is it just so that they can a) generate a ton of extra work (tests, procedures) for themselves or their colleagues? Or b) so that women will continue to get these shots? It's more than a little annoying! Glad you found this site and the many stories like your own. Best of luck at your next appointment. :-)

I am having a period 6 days after a cortisone injection. I finished menopause about 1 year ago. Does this mean that I am fertile again?

Have you read or heard anything about post-menopausal fertility when bleeding starts after a cortisone injection?

I got my first shots in my knees back in June...and started spotting after 15 years of not having periods ! Read all of this online but still had Ultrasound...where they did find some polyps and a tumor. Operated on to remove. No cancer. Fast forward on to shots again two weeks ago. Just started spotting again. Last time when I told my Ortho doctor and my GYN doctor about others having this problem...guess what? None of them had EVER heard of this problem...in spite of lots of women experiencing this.

Good thing you told them...once enough women report about it, each doctor will be more likely to mention that it could be a possible cause of the unexpected bleeding. Even though testing still needs to be done in each case, it will help calm women's nerves.
