I am post 5 weeks surgery as well. I have pain in my belly button and also had only one incision. Its painful to bend or wear pants. I thought I would be ok by now. Today I have been having pains inside my stomach near the belly button. I saw my dr and I am due for a HIDA scan in two days. Its possible that a stone was left in the bile duct so now if there is more stones they need to go back in and remove them. Eating is hard for me my body can no longer digest anything. I read that after gallbladder removal u need to be careful what u eat cause over he yeard it can cause serious issues. Your liver does not secrete enough bile and your food is digested poorly vitamin D or any dairy is hard to digest and vitamin k and broccoli and carrots crazy even healthy things can be bad for you. I hope this helps. This was honestly the worst experience and worst pain of my life I have a daughter and giving birth was much easier and I healed faster.

Happy to report all is normal in my world again. I am 6-7wKS post op and doing much better. I ended up going to my PCP and she took me out of work for a few days and gave me pain meds. I guess I just pushed too quickly and did not allow my body the time it needed to rest and heal. Back to my normal workout routines and sleeping great, which is something I did not do very well prior to surgery. Having this sx was a good move for me as the pain is gone. I am not experiencing any issues with food either but I eat a pretty clean diet anyway, even before surgery. I wish anyone the best when having this surgery. My words of wisdin...REST REST REST! Just listen to your body. :)

ME!!! i had mine out Oct. 27 and the last week or so i'm having a pain right between the 2 incisions on my side. i showed no signs of gallstones before my surgery, but pathology did indeed find gallstones. since they didn't see any stones before, they didn't do the cholangeogram during my surgery, so the ducts weren't 'cleaned'. it hurts so bad it brings me to tears! could i have stones in the common duct that are now bigger and rubbing??

Hello, I had my gallbladder removed 11/2016. I'm am still in so much pain, in the middle of my belly. I have very large breasts and the band of bra rubs on incisions. It's awful! Sitting is so uncomfortable. I brought this up to my doctor about the breasts and bra rubbing! He looked at me like I had 5 heads! He suggested, breast reduction before I had my gallbladder out and after. Seriously! I'm just saying, these breasts and bra, rub on incisions. Please, someone, tell me I'm not crazy. Every time, I eat anything remotely with fat in it, it comes right back out. I never had this before gallbladder removed. I never ate fatty foods either. Occasionally, of course, never had reflux, drank or had irritable bowel. Just sitting typing this is painful! Good luck to everyone. It's different for everyone, healing time. I can feel the inflammation in the middle of my stomach, where incisions are. Clothes/bra rub bandages off. Again, please, tell me I'm not crazy

I am into my 5th week post op and for just over a week have had terrible pain in the right side between ribs and hip went to GP and he phoned hospital who told me to go straight back. After blood and urine tests and ultrasound was told nothing untoward tonight the pain was unbearable and reduced me to tears only ease I got was walking around the room for 30 mins and it subsided. I am sticking to a low fat diet and small meals so don't know what is causing this pain. Just want to get back to normal

I had my surgery 5 weeks ago. I also had the stabbing pain on the right side under rib cage. I couldn't take a deep breathe in w/o pain. Dr prescribed me an Nsaid stronger than ibuprofen and it went away in 2 days. However I do still have pain around my belly button and I have some drainage. I have a call into the dr.

I'm 19 days post-op but was told what to eat before I left after same day surgery. I was told to stay away from dairy and fried and fatty foods. My dr also advised against spicy foods he said it would take several weeks for your body to re balance the way it distributes bile. He also said to try a little bit of something and wait an hour to see how I feel. If I feel ok, then I can eat that.
I sleep on my right side, my naval and up the left side is still very tender. I just try to keep in mind that this is all part of healing from a deep tissue cut. There is minimal, rare complications so don't worry yourself by keep a journal and go to your follow-ups

Your not crazy. I had to get different bras that didn't put pressure on the breast bone or the middle of my back. I was very uncomfortable even before the surgery concerning my bra. Was your dr a man? That might make a difference as far as him understanding the pressure and weight.
