I had mine removed in Sept 16 and had such pain for weeks after. I never thought it would go away but it did and I feel amazing! My PCP dctr took me out of work for another week and said I should not have returned to work after only taking 4 days for recovery. My surgeon only gave me 2 days of pain meds so I thought I was just being a whimp. Needless to say after that week of complete rest I felt much better. I am back to full exercise workouts 5 days a week and have a flatter stomach from the inflamed GB being removed. Hang in there and listen to your body. It knows best! :)

I'm having the same problem! But 2 days after my surgery my clamp came off and I started leaking bile into my body and almost died. And I had 2 more surgeries one to put a stint in and the Dr ended up putting the stint in the wrong spot which it ended up in my pancreas and was suppose to be in my bile duct and then the next surgery was to remove the misplaced stint. It has been a rough few weeks. But I'm getting better other than the pain.

I had surgery 3-weeks ago with one incision. I have so much pain around my bellybutton. I was not expecting it to be this bad. It feels like a hot knife in my bellybutton and a running cramp in my abdomen. I was told I could start jogging and light aerobics but it hurts to even walk. The dr wants me to have an ultrasound but I can't get an appointment until Saturday.

So it’s been almost 3 weeks after my gallbladder surgery, I healed pretty good, but I’m on a weight restriction until 12/27/17, I can’t lift anything over 10 pounds. At work the other day I had to lift a box to give to a customer and I didn’t feel any pain until the next day. Now if I bend over to pick something up or laugh too hard I get a pain right where my incision is. Idk if I should be worried or not, anyone have any suggestions?

I came across this post when I was recovering after gall bladder surgery. This post really helped me understand that I was not alone in having that pain and that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.
I had relatively no pain right after surgery but 2 weeks after surgery, i had to sit for an exended period (more than an hour) at a funeral service for a friend's son. Soon after, I started experiencing pain right under my shoulder blades. And the pain was usually on one side, left or right but rarely both. And it was a dull pain, on a scale of 1 to 10, the most it was at 4.
I brought this up at my follow up appointment with the surgeon and to alleviate my concerns whether the pain was something more, he ordered a comprehensive blood test and the results showed my numbers were just fine. I still spent hours online trying to see why I was still having pain, even 5 weeks after surgery. When I finally met my PCP 6 weeks after surgery, she explained that after gall bladder surgery, your back and shoulder muscles work overtime to protect your abdomen and your body does that without you even trying.
Thankfully , a week after that appointment, the pain just went away. Now I can sit, sleep, lay down and do all the things I could normally do before surgery again and that too without pain.
So if anyone is looking for an answer over why they are hurting, I can tell you that you are not alone, there is nothing wrong with you and the pain is just part of the healing process and yes, the pain will go away.
Good luck and think positive! Happy New Year everyone.

I had my surgery 4 weeks ago and am still having pain in the incision and naval and it travels to my back. It hurts when I breath and cough, my doctor did blood work and x-rays and said he couldn't ' find anything wrong. This is not normal I am going to get a second opinion. Pray you all will start to feel better soon.

I’m 2 1/2 weeks post op lap gallbladder surgery they went above my navel and I had 5 incision sites! I’m still bruised in 2 areas and had trouble getting out of bed as it felt like it was pulling. I felt if I hunched over it didn’t feel as sore. I had 2 great days and now the pain on my right side basically by the one incision feels really sore and goes thru to my back! Heating pad on my back relieves the pain But if I move it feels muscular. I still feel swollen on a few sites. As well. I also feel if I hold the entire area with my hand it supports it if that makes sense. I’d appreciate any feedback . Les

I am 3 weeks post open gallbladder surgery as of yesterday. I am experiencing pain In my upper right quadrant. Last night I felt like I was having another attack. I still get tired easily and can't straighten my body out. When I walk I feel like something is pulling above my belly button and I have pain above my 7 inch incision that goes to my right side. I also get knife stabbing pains on occasion above my incision. I have back pain too. I am still taking Vicodin. I can only sleep 2 to 3 hours at a time. I was told it is a slow process to recover. I did dishes last night for the first time and I had pain after. I am still off of work. I go back to the Doctor next Tuesday. This surgery was unexpected. I went to the walk in clinic on February 26, 2017. They sent me to the Emergency room. They admitted me to the hospital where I was on antibiotics and morphin over night had surgery the next day. It was supposed to be an easy surgery. But then had to cut me open. This sucks. I manage a very busy Truck Stop. I am required to do lots of bending, lifting and standing for 8 to 15 hour shifts. I just want to be normal again.
