Greeting all, I am exactly one week post surgery and am beyond miserable, i was a severe snorer so i had the full deal done at the same time (Rhinoplasty) for deviated septum, (UPPP) Soft Pallet trim and Tonsils removed. The first 3 days were hell as i am allergic to anything that end with a cet like percacet, darvacet, etc... well they gave me a vicoden knock on that i took for 2 days then was itching like a madmand until i looked at the other names for the drug well looky there its Loricet. Well they swapped me to Morphine and lets just say i didnt react well to that, makes you see things that arent there hehe. So anyways i say screw it and man up and have been taking the "Vicoden" since it kills the pain i just itch all day.

Ok well at about day 5 i start seeing large white patches on the back of my throat and roof of my mouth. I had been rinsing really well after sucking down applesauce and taking my liquid amoxycilin but i guess the antibioticts still did the job and gave me thrush. So the wife gets the doc to prescribe me some wonder banana flavored whale semen looking mess to hold in my mouth as long as i possible can and rinse with, so far in two days its helping a tiny bit.

Now that i have given you a history here is my "problem" i can live with all of the above but for the last 4 nights when i try to sleep it is UNBEARABLE how sore my throat gets. It doesnt matter if im taking 2 vicoden every 4 hours either. I still have the 3 inch plastic stints up my nose from the nose part of my surgery so its all mouth breathing for me when i sleep. Needless to say it takes maybe 15-20 minutes for my mouth to dry out followed by my throat so if i happen to pull off a miracle and sleep for 2 hours my throat is soooo soar when i wake up i can hardly breathe much less get water flowing to soothe it. The only thing i have found to help is to set an alarm every 45 minutes and wake up take 2 drinks of water reset alarm and so on. As you can imagine this is not very much sleep, i have also tried sleeping with sheet over my head to keep air a little warmer and not dry me out as fast it helps a tad not much.

So i typed all this to vent a little bit haha thanks! and to ask if anyone has any solutions for me to get some relief from dry/sore throat when sleeping. Oh and yes i know i was dumb to get all 3 procudres done at same time now (Hind sight is 20/20)
