I had a surgical abortion 10 weeks ago at 8 weeks. I had minimal bleeding and cramps, nothing serious, for a week, maybe a little longer. I started birth control as directed by the doctor, and have had 2 regular periods since the procedure. I didn't return for the follow up appointment, for the simple fact that going back to clinic bothered me, and everything seemed fine anyway. I was told not to have sex, take a bath, or be in a swimming pool for two weeks, so I did none of that. Now, 10 weeks later, the last several weeks when I've had sex it has been painful, and I start bleeding after and have cramps. Is this a sign of infection or is this normal after the procedure?
10 weeks post op should be sufficient time to recover and begin your normal lifestyle. If you are in pain and bleeding, you should deff see a doctor. Or at least give the clinic a call.
I'm not sure that my regular doctor will see me if the procedure was done by another doctor at another practice. I'm trying to aviod having to go back to the clinic if at all possible, plus considering that I missed my follow up appointment, I'll have to pay for another visit.

If you are more comfortable with your regular doctor, which i am sure you are, i see no reason why he can't or won't see you. I don't think he would refuse to see you but he will probably ask a lot of question's, which is fine as you should be able to tell your doctor anything so he can better take care of you and your issue.
