Post tubal ligation syndrome thread.
Please continue posting within this thread.
My husband really looked concerned the other morning when I got up and despite having a tampon in he saw the blood just draining down my legs and he wasn't grossed out (I am lucky blood doesn't make him faint) he was like... um.... are you okay? This morning I woke up and felt the headache and dizzy and disoriented.
I have felt the heart palpitations.
And I have now finally did some research! thank goodness I think I have found something that makes sense. For depression and the moods consistent exercise has seem to help. I have been working out with a good cardio that is 30-60minutes a day. That gives me a natural endorphin boost that helps keep me in high spirits and I follow it with lifting weights. It also helped take all the baby weight off. That is a little tip for some. I know it's hard because this darn thing is so exhausting and painful it makes it hard to do... but it may help some. In May I am going to a new ob gyn (we have moved recently) and I am hoping she will not be one that negates the possiblity. I will speak with her about Tubal reversal.
Thanks to all with the great information.
I only recently found out about Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome after I was diagnosed with Post Ablation Tubal Ligation Syndrome which resulted in a Total hysterectomy ( I'm 5 weeks post op)
The PATSS caused debilitating right sided fallopian tube pain which I found out was caused by endometrial lining regenerating after the endometrial ablation. The ablation causes scarring to the uterus which traps any bleeding from flowing out through the cervix. The blood needs to go somewhere so it flowed into my stumped fallopian tube, causing it to enlarge and engorge with blood. This progressed for approx 6-8 months before I was diagnosed. Now, looking back, I realize how many years I suffered with post ligation symptoms. Funny how my Dr never suggested these could be related to the tubal!
After my hysterectomy The NEW Dr. found stage IV endometriosis and badly adhered appendix, ovaries, bowel and bladder. When I had the tubal the OLD Dr said I had "NO" signs of endometriosis. Funny how all of these complications arose AFTER the tubal.
I was hospitalized three times for severe depression and anxiety. I had bad cramps and started having heavy bleeding (with clots) which my OLD Dr then suggested an endometrial ablation. It was all downhill after this.
I know Dr don't want to admit these problems are real. So many women having symptoms post tubal need to be listened to. There needs to be more research done to study these complications.
I had my tubal in July '11 after having my daughter by c-section. I have all of the symptoms that everyone else is complaining about. I feel like I am losing my mind! I'm not sure what to do. I really do want to go through the surgery to have them un-tied. Has anyone tried hrt?
I had my tubal ligation done in Oct. 2006... The worse decision I have ever made. Over the last 6 years I have dealt with "flooding" periods that last anywhere from 3-7 days and to top it off this happens 2-3 times a month and prior they were normal. in the last year I get cramps that literally double me over. I was diagnosed with anxiety a few months ago. My moods are horrible and i get severe headaches amongst so many other things. The doctors have told me that it is due to stress... I was at a loss until someone mentioned to me that I should probably be tested for PTLS. After doing some research I discovered that I have 99% of the symptoms. I am going to mention it to my doctor at my next appointment and see what she may suggest. I am hoping and praying that I can get this figured out, I want the old me back...
I had my tubal ligation done about 20 years ago when I was 27. I have not experienced any pain or unusual symptoms at all. I guess I am just very fortunate.
