Do you think that a beginner whose main discipline is breaststroke is can start practicing other strokes after only a few months after beginning with swimming? I got a little tired of exercising the same discipline and I’d like to introduce something new to my training. I just don’t know whether I’m experienced enough to switch among strokes so soon.

In my opinion, swimming is just like a language. It’s better to start learning both your native tongue and another one or two at the same time. I think that the same goes for swimming. Maybe the fact that it’s more interesting to mix styles will not make you bored, because it can sometimes be tiring to exercise only one stroke for several months, especially if you’re a beginner. I don’t think that learning several strokes at the same time, can make you not master each of them separately. I only don’t know if you should try butterfly so soon, because that’s most certainly one of the most difficult strokes and you need a lot of experience to be able to perform it.
