pregnant and on methadone

Methadone is actually recommended for pregnant women who take opiates of any kind- there is no "limit" persay the idea is just to make sure you are comfortable so all energy can be devoted to making a healthy baby. Above all DO NOT allow yourself to feel withdrawl whatsoever. i was on 140 mg. pregnant. i have a gorgeous intelligent baby boy- completely healthy 7 months old mnever been sick. (they are actually conducting studies on methadone babies being of higher intelligence). anyway he was in the hospital for a month. which sucked horribly. he wasnt cying and barely showed withdrawal symptoms but they kept hi just to make sure. and every baby is diff. .anyway, if you are aroundf above 50 mg. you cannot detox preg. bc of risk of miscarriage. you actually are supposed to be increased bc the baby takes it and you can get a little bit sick. i didnt increase and did feel sick- but all day morning sicknss runs in my family anyway. dont be scared and dont listen to halfd the c**p ppl say on these things bc they DONT know- and , i was supprised to find many doctors do not know- INCLUDING the gyno dr. i was when preg , and the delivery dr.s. ask the dr. at a methadone clinicor the neonatologists/ good luck!!

OH - and i know moms that were on the same as me and their babies had no withdrawl symptoms and moms that were on 50 mg and their babies were in the hospital for weeks. so dont let ANYONE tell you the more you take the worse it willbe bc it is all diff!!!! people love to b.s. about stuff they dont know/

Methadone is a malicious drug and there is not enough studies done to ensure that children born addicted to it will have a long healthy life.

All those people out there talking about how they feel and their body hurting and being sic, think what is happening with the child!

YOU DON'T KNO WHAT U ARE TALKING ABOUT ... people like u just need to keep their mouth shut it is a safe way for addicts to have a healthy baby i was never suppose to conceive a child and i am on methadone and clean from all illicit drugs for two years now and methadone helped save my life !! you will lose your baby if i try to come off while pregnant and this could be my one and only chance to have a child therefore termination wasn't even an option!! So please unless u practice what you preach do NOT NAD MOUTH US WOMAN WHO ARE DOING THe right thing shame on u for speaking negative about something you have no clue about !!!!! CALL a legit place like a methadone clinic and i'll have u kno out of 100% AN AMAZING 40% go home with the mother the next day and show NO SIGNS OF WITHDRAWAL!!!! I personally know older children that were born on methadone and are perfectly normal its something you'd NEVER KNOW!!!!
