I had surgery for a full rotator cuff tear 4 weeks ago. I may have heard a pop last night. I woke up with the stiffness and pain gone. I seem to have better range of motion suddenly. I have to wonder if the sutchers tore relieving the tension on the ligament, or if some scar tissue just let loose. Does anyone have any insights?

I don't know but you should get to your doc right away... That scares me, as thats my big fear, that I'll do something to re-injure mine...

I had a second repair on the supraspinatus tendon in March (exactly 1 year after the first). I was having a similar problem--entire shoulder rose when I lifted my arm above shoulder height, but at least it didn't hurt that much (I had frozen shoulder the first time around and that's was the most painful thing I've endured). So. 10 days ago, the PT decided it was now or never and he manipulated my shoulder, forcing it to stretch despite it being stuck. It hurt like a son of a gun, but I endured it. Problem is that since then, I have extreme pain and burning in my trapezius radiating up to my neck, also my teres minor area (behind the shoulder) and in the rhomboids. This was all doing fine before the PT session. Every day I open my eyes hoping its a bad nightmare and this will get better. Seeing sport doctor in the surgeon's practice Tuesday--fingers crossed I don't have a re-tear. I don't my husband today that if it re-torn, I don't think I'm having surgery--I'll seek out doctors and therapist that believe in other modalities.

I woke up from surgery with the same severe pain in the side of my neck. The doctors response was, "I don't know, I don't do necks". I ended up having a second surgery to fix what the first doctor did. I still have that pulling pain in the side of my neck that radiates down my color bone and into my shoulder. No one seems to have any answers

I am now post op 3 weeks after my second surgery. My first surgery was in May for a total tear of the supraspinitis and labrum. Due to the labrum repair I was in a sling for 5 weeks. Post op I developed frozen shoulder, scar tissue and adhesions. I went in for a second surgery to include removal of scar tissue, adhesions, cutting of one additions ligament and then a manual manipulation. While this was pretty uncomfortable I am happy to say it has restored 95% of my range of motion and now I am on track for strengjt building!! The second surgery was a success and I wish you well on yours!!

After my 2nd surgery I told my surgeon I could still feel my shoulder pop out of socket they told me keep up pt my shoulder wasn't strong enough that's months into pt, moved went to new specialist he ordered 1 MRI w/ dye came back said 2nd surgery never healed on to 3rd and 4th surgeries and now stuck with bunch of metal and extra damage by 1st surgeon who didn't listenafter 1st surgery so 1st tear healed but 2nd tear happened with no fix. My pt was great didn't push the no pain no gain c**p it was lack of my doctor trusting me & believing enough to see what was going on before permanent damage, he thought I was complaining to get meds but you could see when my shoulder popped down. Sucks was barely 21 and totally changed my life. Find a doctor and pt you can trust and never let them make youfeel like an id**t, you deserve answers to any and all of your questions or concerns it's your body and you should be able to understand what's going on or happening in it before it's too late for help. Best wishes!
