Hello. I'm 34 year old and I'm very worried for my mother. She is 60 years old and these last couple of days she has developed some kind of balance problem.
I mentioned her that she needs to contact some doctor over this, but she refused.
From what I know about it, balance problems could be caused by two things- problems with cerebellum brain or problems with inner ear.
I remembered that she has several inner ear inflammations few years ago and so I think that probably this could be a problem. I don’t know –could anyone tell me more about this problems!?

Hello. I see that you already understand the problems and possible causes. If you think that the problems are in hers inner ear- I will tell you something about it.
The balance really could be damaged if inner ear suffered several recurrent infection but you should also keep in mind that aging can also affect balance. I believe that I have read somewhere that almost 40 percent of people older than age 65 fall each year.
You should definitely take her to see some doctor because sometimes, diagnosis of inner ear problem could be rather complicated. Sometimes, it requires specialists in internal medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology and physical medicine.
