I am 47 and have been bleeding virtually non stop since January. I have had tests done to rule out anything other than perimenopause. My Dr suggested either the pill or minera implant. I have started with the pill and still the bleeding continues. It is now heavier than ever. Anybody had any similar problems and have any advice.
I would mention Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, see giving the pill is typically what the give to women with this condition and non-stop bleeding can occur or just from a hormone imbalance, but they don't seem to like telling people about any hormone conditions because they don't seem to be bothered about dealing with it because apparently there is no real cure or no real solutions for younger women with any hormone imbalances but i wouldn't rule out that your already starting menopause, i mean you are 47 now and typically women start menopause around 50 so... your really not too far off at all. I have PCOS from my mums side because there is a history there of females on her side and my mum have some hormone issues, when my mum, her mother and her sister started menopause whenever they got their period during menopause they would just pour blood like water, my mum used to totally soak through a tampon, 2 pads, her knickers and her pants it was THAT bad, for my mum it sometimes went on for over 2 weeks, she, her mum and sister always typically had heavy periods for a start, which is a typical symptom of PCOS. Not uncommon though for women around your age to get hormone imbalances all of a sudden too though. My mum was also susceptible to an iron deficiency too so if i were you i would get some iron tablets, i would get a test to see if your starting menopause for sure, however i give extreme caution against implants because they are lethal because of how strong they are and have known to cause blood clots, hormone imbalances and permanent infertility, so honestly knowing that it's possible you could have a hormone imbalance (if your not starting menopause), then it would just make things worse.
