I do not understand much in medicine. I was in the hospital. I was feeling very ill. I had a chest pain, productive cough, short breath etc. I was very scared. Now I am home. The doctor did some analysis and prescribed me some medications, but I can't read it on my recipe. Can you tell me what kind of pulmonary drugs are used in this case?
Most causes of community-acquired pneumonia in otherwise healthy adults do not require hospitalization. Although desirable it is often impractical in the outpatient setting to obtain a chest radiograph and sputum Gram's stain and culture in order to confirm the clinical diagnosis of pneumonia and its microbial etiology before starting antimicrobial therapy. Drugs used in such therapy are cefazolin, cefepime, aztreonam, ceftriaxone, erythromycin, nafcilin, penicillin etc.
