i was dignosed with add as a yhoung child... i was persrcibed ritlan at a very low doseage of 5mg. add is something that you can overcome with the correct medication, i dont sugest ritlan it made me feel as is i was a zombe along with a forgotten appitie. if i were you i would try the best sugested med from the docter personly i would choose adderall, a few friends from highschool we susesfull with that medication. thought if you are takeing the medication and you do not feel yourself i sugest to swich with out hesitation. these types of meds can alter your personality and make you uncomfortable with yourself untill you find the one that works...
good luck...

I am on 80 mg of Adderall a day. To me this is truly scary. But I was being treated for Narcolepsy and Sleep Apnea and I am still falling asleep. About 5 yrs later I was informed I also have ADHD and I am 48 yrs old. I can't really say that it makes me depressed because I already had a depression problem. But i do know without it I would just sleep all day. I can concentrate much better. But i am so disorganized and still try to do to many things at one time. But my Doctor said it will be very difficult to treat both illnesses when they both call for the same medication but suppose to have the opposite affects. But I think I would have definite side effects going off it.
I do feel that I have gotten more irritable. As far as my weight I think I eat less but not healthy so I stay the same weight.

1.no
2. if you take it at 6 am its wears off about 4:30-5:00 pm
3. loose weight, only in first year and1/2 i was diagnosed at 7 and im now 13(see question answer 5)
4. at first few weeks you feel a bit queasy when it kicks in, but you eventually dont notice it
5. at first i lost weight but then my appitite got better in a year and 1/2, almost all stimulants/ADHD medicines raise your metabolism.
6. oh my god it helped so much! now after 6 years of it the effects arent as drastic(not in a bad way) so im thinking of switching
