my wife's lips are red and swollen, espeacilly in the morning. they don't ich, but they do burn. we don't think it's allergy because after taking SUMAMED (broad spectrum antibiotic), things get better, but only for short time.

Does your wife suffer from oral herpes? It happens often that before an out break especially the initial one, the area becomes itchy, burning, red and swollen. She could have caught oral herpes from kissing someone who had an outbreak, or performing an oral on you if you have genital herpes, etc
Antibiotics shouldn’t help in herpes, because herpes is a virus.
If herpes option is out of the question and your wife’s irritation doesn’t go down soon, I would suggest you saw a doc and checked what could be going on.
Try to remember things like when the breakouts occurred, if there was something that triggered them, if there are accompanying symptoms, etc
If it turns out it is herpes, try applying cold compresses with Apis mellifica herb. It works good for redness and swelling and burning.
