I've been having the same problem since March 11, 2014 and my gynecologist can't seem to figure out what's causing it. My outer vaginal lips and are red, dry, and burn. My upper butt crack looks perfectly normal, but also burns like crazy. They also both flare up at the same time. So if one burns, the other one burns as well. When I first went to the doctor about this I was diagnosed with bv and prescribed antibiotics. Once I finished the antibiotics I still had the same symptoms. I've been retested for bv twice and I've been tested for yeast infections 3 times. No sign of yeast every time. Bv was confirmed the first time and the second (a small trace left). The third time no BV was found. I've been told to try many different things but nothing is working and I'm miserable. I've even seen a dermatologist who prescribed Desonide ointment. That did not work.
Things I've been prescribed and used:
clotrimazole/betamethasone cream
Boric acid vaginal capsules
Gold Bond medicated power (for the butt crack)
Things I've tried on my own:
Desitin
Monistat itch cream
Vitamin E (right out of the capsule)
Campho-Phenique (on the buttcrack)
The only things that seemed to have helped a little are Desitin and Vitamin E. The lips begin to turn back to the normal color when using either one of those. But once I washed it off or even moved my lips they turn red again. And as far as my butt crack...it's constantly burning. Has anyone else ever dealt with anything like this?
Maybe it's just a fungal infection, like my babies would get sometimes on their bottoms. The Dr prescribed Lotrimin twice a day, with a layer of Desitin over that, for a couple of weeks. I've had that problem myself, and it work!
Did you find a cure for this? I have the EXACT same symptoms and am on the same path as far as diagnosis and treatment goes with no relief. HELP!
Any cure for this?? Exactly the same thing is happening to me??
