My eyes were constantly irritated, sore, itchy, red, so I wear gas perm monovision contact lenses, have worn contacts for about 15 years. Now, I have punctum plugs in my lower eyelids which have helped tremendously, after a horrible winter last year. What I wanted to know does anyone with my-sounding-condition get any relief from Restatis? I heard that if you already have plugs, then it won't help.

My eye doctor put me on Restatis about 7 weeks ago, and I just had a check. It's the additional help I needed after all, on top of the improvement of the punctom plugs. It's working well for me, 1 drop twice a day in each eye. There was more stinging in the beginning after application of the drops, but it has waned. Now are just a few minutes of discomfort. And well worth it vs. eye moisturizers all day long.

Hello Youngblut,

I suffer from dry eye and my doctor put me on Restasis about 3 months ago, it helped at first but my eyes are still red. He recommended tear duck plugs but I am unsure because I research a bit and found out it increases risk of eye infection.

I just want to know how the plugs are working for you, and if you had any problems with them. The doctors are reassuring but I need to hear how it is to, actually, have the plugs. How they feel and all.

If you are still around I would appreciate if you could answer my post.

Thanks.
