The following post was in my "Clonazepam and Klonopin Withdrawal - Musicman Posts" thread. It was off-topic but it was in response to a question by Long73.
I am going to do a cut and past below. It will be "as is" with no changes. I believe that this falls within the "Nervous System Disorders and Diseases" discussion category and so am placing it here, since I could not find a specific "sleep" discussion area.
Perhaps this will help others.

In regards to your question about a sleeping aid, you might want to check my other "MUSIC MAN" posts (though I admit they are long), or you can simply try the following below. This is not my suggestion but, instead, a recommendation by a world-renown natural medicine doctor/author. I don't believe I may mention his name on this post. But, he is very good and before the MDs stuck me on that junk clonazepam, I was using the following with very very good success and should have simply stuck with the following. I no longer kneel at the throne of any MD with their pill-pushing standards and no longer take whatever they toss at me, simply because they have an MD behind their name. Nowadays, they have to prove themselves, or they will receive my wrath. If I sound bitter...I am...especially after going through this withdrawal nonsense.
The thing that I want to point out is the you should NOT just start taking it ALL. I will make the list, and you will want to try to start with just the first recommendation and, if that does not work, then add the next and so forth.
You will be able to find the following in any good health food store, and I always recommend buying QUALITY. Never go cheap when it comes to supplements (...though don't pay over the top just for the sake of paying more...do your homework and ask the people at the store).
TRY THIS FOR FOUR DAYS
- B12 methylcobalamin (try to get the 5000 mcg nuggets that you melt under your tongue) ... take one in the morning; it is important that you get the methylcobalamin and the kind that melts under your tongue ... don't just use regular B12
- Melatonin (try to get the 2.5 to 3.0 mg tablets that you melt under your tongue) ... take dosage at bedtime
TRY THIS FOR THE NEXT FOUR DAYS
Along WITH the supplements from the first four days, add the following
- L-Theanine (200 mg) ... take one capsule about 30 minutes before bedtime (NOTE: 400 mg can be taken as a sedative)
- 5-Hydroxytryptophan (aka, 5-HTP) (100 mg) ... take one capsule about 30 minutes before bedtime
TRY THIS FOR THE NEXT FOUR DAYS
Along WITH the first and second four days above, add the following
- Valerian (300 mg) ... take one capsule about 45 minutes before bedtime
TRY THIS FOR THE NEXT FOUR DAYS
At this point, you are taking all of the above. You should now do the following. BE CAREFUL...
- STOP taking 5-HTP
- Take a low dose of L-tryptophan. NOW...this is the big gun, so to speak. It has gotten bad "press" put out there by the medical establishment and drug companies. Why? Because they knew it worked and wanted to be able to sell you expensive drugs instead. Yes, there was a bad batch of it made up in Japan years ago. The problem was not the tryptophan but, instead, the junk that the manufacturer used to cut corners and cut costs. That problem was resolved but the MDs tried to run a campaign that made people think that the FDA had recommended pulling the nutrient. The attorneys for the health food industry years later did some research and found that the FDA did not do any such thing. Again, it was merely the MDs and drug companies doing their usual dirty dealings. The attorneys for the health food industry got tryptophan back onto the shelves.
But...with that said, try to use the smallest dosage you can. Just start out small and see how you do.
I want to reiterate that you want to take the above in SLOW stages. PLEASE don't just jump in and start taking it all. Your body might not like that and you should always try to take the lowest amount of these types of things as possible and slowly add on until you find your required level.
Try to take time to read my other posts and don't forget your vegetables. I know it sounds basic, but you need to calm your nervous system, if you are going to be able to sleep, and the green vegetables will help you greatly if done on a DAILY basis. Also absolutely ingest NO caffeine
I wish you all the best with your sleep.

It is now 3:30 pm. I will be home by 4:30pm and will explain thongs then.
Binebee...
I am back home now, where I can use a bigger keyboard than my iPhone. :-)
I am truly sorry to hear that you are having difficulty. Believe me, I totally understand. I'm going to expand a little more on what you have asked for.
In fact, I'm going to name some products and will rely on Steady Health to edit them out if need be (but, I hope they don't). If that happens, I believe you can send me a direct message, and I will respond.
First, I will plead ignorant to what you are calling the "milk method". If it helps you, fine, but I simply am unaware of it. I will say, though (and I'll probably get comments on this), if you are older than 13 (and you probably are), you should not be drinking milk. Around 12-13, we humans lose the enzymes in our stomachs that help to break down milk. What happens then is that milk, being a high-residue product, acts like sandpaper on your intestines. This whittles away at your villi. Your villi are used to take nutrients into your body. If your villi are not in good shape, you will have many many problems. So...perhaps if you, or anyone else, is reading this and drinking milk, I would encourage you to switch to Rice Dream rice milk. I get the vanilla flavor, as the regular just doesn't do it for me. I essentially use is on cereal and oatmeal. I do not drink it in a class. I drink pure water. I would also like to add that the phosphoric acid within soda products does the same thing to wear down the villi. This is why our society is so sick. So many people are hooked on soda products, and they are paying a very very heavy price for it, even if they don't feel it now. They will. If you are drinking milk and/or soda, this will add to the pain in your stomach.
So...back on topic.
You asked about the cream. The exact name is "Adrena Calm". The full title on the bottle is "Adrena Calm K-16 Cream". It is put out by Apex Energetics, Inc 16592 Hale Ave Irvine, CA 92606 (http://www.apexenergetics.com/newproducts/newproducts.htm) 800-736-4381. Now, I get mine from my board certified nutritionist. I honestly do not know if they sell to non-doctors, so you might want to just call them and ask them how to proceed to purchase the product. You asked me to list the ingredients. Believe me, if I started that, I'd be typing a LONG time, as there is much in it. Bye the way, they have a new type of bottle/dispenser which is much nicer. I just got a new one a couple of weeks ago. It lasts a long time. So, that, hopefully, answers your question but if not, reply to this post, and I'll try to help some more.
Along with the Adrena Calm, may I suggest that you also use three more nutrients along with your regimen: GABA (take it three times a day - 500 MG each), Pregnenolone (take it three times a day - sublingual (under the tongue) - 25 MG each), and Mil Adrene Forte. The last one will also help calm your adrenal glands, and should also be taken three times per day at 160 MG each. As with the other products, I get them from my nutritionist, and so I don't know if the company will sell them directly to you. You might have to go to a nutritionist who will order it for you. Nevertheless, the company is Miller Pharmacal Group, Inc (http://www.millerpharmacal.com/) at 800-323-2935. They are at
800.323.2935 and 350 Randy Road, Suite 2 Carol Stream, IL 60188-1831. GABA can usually be purchased at any health food store. You might even be able to get any of these products by asking a health food store to get them for you. As for Pregnenolone, mine is produced by Douglas Laboratories, and I am pretty sure they only sell to professionals. BUT, you never know, so you might want to contact them: http://www.douglaslabs.com/ and 800-245-4440 and 600 Boyce Road
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15205. In any case, when you buy nutrients, ALWAYS buy quality. This is not a time when you want to save money just to save money. This is your life we are talking about.
As for those pains in your stomach. Not so much fun are they?! You must do everything you can to calm your body. When you feel a pain coming on, drink water. That will help to dilute some of the acid. One time on another post, a disinformation artist who probably has no clue what we go through with this, suggested that I had an ulcer. He just doesn't understand the withdrawal symptoms of this awful drug. I also use Yogi Stomach Ease tea, which can be bought at a health food store. Always have some on hand! It is very nice. I drink it first thing when I wake and sometimes a couple of hours before bed, though don't drink too much before bed for obvious reasons. :-)
I'm also going to step out on a limb and hope that Steady Health does not mind my being so specific in the products this time. I know how difficult this is for you and others, and I want to help. So, if you can, try to order some GastroMycin. It should be taken 15 minutes before each meal. It is important that you follow those instructions. And, then take one before bed. Don't take it after the meals, etc. The idea is to help coat your stomach. This product is by Allergy Research Group (http://www.allergyresearchgroup.com/). Get the 150 capsules (or more) bottle. Stick with it! This is a 2 to 2 1/2 month regimen. I know that sounds tough, but stick with it.
Lastly, there is ORA-CAL 25. This is essentially vanilla flavored chewable calcium tablets. Try to buy two bottles of 100 tablets...to start. Here's the deal. You can chew on these as much as you want. So, when you start getting some pain in the stomach. Pop a couple in your mouth. When I was having the problems that you were experiencing, I would keep one bottle at home and one in my car. Again, anytime you need to take some, do so. Again, I get this from my nutritionist, and I don't really have a lot of information on it, but I can say that it is distributed by a private company in Blue Bell, PA called Plymouth-Bell and is located at 953 Penllyn Blue Bell Pike Blue Bell, PA 19422-2101 and 215-646-7679. Perhaps you could talk to them and they can help you know where you can buy it. Again, I do not know if they sell directly to non-professionals, and so you might have to get a nutritionist of a health food store to order it for you. But, it does help.
Well...this is a bit to take in for you, Binebee, but I certainly hope that it helps some. AND, I hope that Steady Health will understand that I gain nothing by giving specifics as to companies and so forth and only mean to help you and will, therefore, leave the information unedited. If they do not, again, try to shoot me a message from within Steady Health.
I hope this helps you. Keep that water in your stomach. That basic thing will help you. Let us all know how you make out. I truly understand what you are going through. Just know, that there IS a light at the end of this tunnel. Stick with the regimen, and you'll do fine. AND...calm your body. Stay away from things that stress it, e.g., coffee, sugar, ...you know what I mean.
Take care,
Musicman

p.s. Binebee ... sorry to have forgotten this bit of information, but it is important pertaining to Adrena Calm. As my doctor explains it, if we keep applying the cream in one place, after awhile, it becomes ineffective...think of like a log-jam, as my doctor would say. So, create yourself a list. I use a 3x5 card and list the places where it would be the best for the cream to enter the blood stream. My list looks like this:
Left inside ankle
Right inside ankle
Left behind the knee
Right behind the knee
Left inside of elbow
Right inside of elbow
Left upper chest
Right upper chest
Now...what you should do is start with "Left inside ankle" and apply it there for 3 times per day for 3 days. Make a mark (e.g., / ) for each time you apply it. Once you have 9 marks (3 time per day for 3 days), then move to the next area, i.e., "Right inside ankle". Continue to do this up to "Right upper chest". Then...start back down at "Left inside ankle". Either make a new piece of paper up or cross through your other marks.
This is an important way of using the cream. Otherwise, it will not be as useful.
Hang in there,
