I am a senior (65) , have had fibromyalgia for over 20 years, and started having problems with my right shoulder. My doctor and I tried cortisone shots, which worked for awhile. Then about a year ago the flexibility, movement level, and pain got worse. Then I was working around the house and felt a sharp pain, and a loud pop. I had problems moving or using my right arm and shoulder from that moment on. I went to my doctor's office, had an MRI taken, and he had me see an orthopedic surgeon within the practice. It was decided I should have rotator cuff surgery. I had surgery 5 weeks ago. I wore a sling/brace for 10 days, and during that time I fell twice onto my right side, but things seemed okay. I went to post op check and things were progressing as they should. I discussed the falls, and was told to wear the sling/brace a few more weeks and set up physical therapy. I was having insurance problems so I didn't want to set up any more appointments until fixed. I had been prescribed OxyContin for pain after surgery, I stopped it after 7 days, so as to not get addicted. I take Tramadol for pain because of the fibromyalgia, so I knew I could restart it under my normal schedule. I contacted something and was very sick for several days. Just the weekend before getting sick, I started having pain in my right shoulder, down my arm, and reduction of use without pain or a tug when using it. I then got very sick, carried a temperature (102.8) , and was in and out of sleep for four days. I was aware of a sharp pain in my right shoulder and neck as I tried to get comfortable, or roll around. I fell a couple of times trying to get to the bathroom. Is there any way my falls or tossing around could have done more damage? I will admit I wasn't good about wearing my sling/brace because it was always in the way of driving, dishes, picking up, or caring for my dogs. Please let me know if this should be pursued further with my doctor, or if it's normal? I can be reached at _[removed]_ Thank You for your time and any assistance you can give. Bonnie
