Hey everyone,

I'm 19 and have an odd problem with my right testicle, so wanted to ask for some advice about it. The other day after i'd just finished masturbating, i went to feel down there and quickly noticed that my right testicle was 'missing'. It freaked me out to begin with, but i felt around and found it had been pushed up much higher than it should have. I didn't look once because i was too scared, but managed to push it back downwards without too much difficulty.

However since then, there has been quite a light sensation of pressure in my testicle. I held off from pleasuring again for almost two days, but when i did it this morning the pressure increased and it felt kinda like my ball was going to explode and it kept trying to come too far upwards again. Thankfully it eased off a bit enough for me to finish, but i'm worried as to what could be causing the problem.

It makes me wonder whether i pushed it back into the wrong position or something. I'm in a difficult situation because i have Selective Mutism and would not be able to communicate with a doctor. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi guest,

Your testicles will rise as you approach orgasm - that's normal.  In younger men they can even "disappear" upwards - that's normal too.  It should come down by itself after a short period.

You may have irritated your testicle by trying to push it down.

You can't really push it down into the "wrong" position.  Since you aren't complaining of severe, as in can't even stand up or walk, pain then it is unlikely that there is any significant problem such as testicular torsion.

Give it a few days rest.

Hope it helps.

Hi Dan,

Thank you for the polite and informative response. Yes, i knew that the testicles rise during sexual excitement, however i was quite concerned the other day because it's never gone that far upwards before. You see i usually masturbate once or twice a day and don't remember that ever happening to me, so it was most unusual.

Like you said, it's probable that there is some irritation because i've had my hand down there a lot due to the mild discomfort. I don't think pushing it downwards that once caused too much aggravation, because i only gave it a slight nudge to sort the problem.

I was only worried in case it had dropped back into a 'bad' position which was giving me this weird feeling of pressure. That must sound a bit ridiculous. Anyways, i'll take your helpful advice and see whether i can leave off with doing it for a few additional days.

Thanks!
