I’m scheduled for a surgery. It is CTS surgery and I have some doubts about it. I have this sharp pain that goes from the top of my long finger through whole my arm. This pain is so strong and sharp that won’t let me sleep at night. But I want to know if the surgery is the only solution and if there is some optional CTS treatment. And by the way I’m scheduled for a surgery tomorrow.

Hi there! Well the surgery is not the only solution but it is the best option you can make regarding CTS. I’m sure for I’ve got my mom sitting next to me right now and she had CTS surgery two days ago and was discharged from the hospital yesterday and came back here brand new. And the most important thing is that she got rid of that pain already. In fact the surgery consist of releasing the medium nerve in your carpal tunnel from the pressure that squeezes him so much in which manner causes that terrible sharp pain you feel that I also am very well aware of for neither I haven’t any sleep for months because my mom haven’t managed to fall asleep regularly. And she just like you had those doubts about surgery and for that she suffered this pain so long. In the meantime she was thinking whether to have some other CTS treatment such as removal from exposure, physical therapy (that’s so boring), anti-inflammatory medications that may help but only in a short run. And also my mom tried with splint applications at nights. It is supposed that this so called conservative treatment helps in reducing the risk factors at your work but as far as my mom is concerned it wasn’t like that so finally she decided to have this surgery and regrets now why has haven’t done it at first place. Go for it and get rid of that pain that impact your life so much and you won’t regret it. P.S. there’re some alternative treatments such as acupuncture and chiropractic and I’ve heard somebody saying yoga is good in resolving this problem in sense to reduce the pain you feel but I doubt it will be of long-term results.
