I’ve been seeing halos at night. When I talked with some of the people I realized that I am not alone. Many of us are seeing halos. Does anyone know what the halos many of us see are? Are those halos any indication of low or high IOP?
A halo is a ring seen around a bright light source, such as a headlight or light bulb and they can be either white or rainbow colored, depending on the cause. They are neither indication of low nor high IOP. They indicate something in the transparent structures of the eye that is interfering with the transmission of light back to the retina. The most common causes of halos are corneal edema, cataract, and high humidity in the air. I’ve been seeing halos at night too. But I didn’t do anything about it yet.
Hi there,
Halos are very often a problem with people who suffer from cataracts. The light distortion caused by cataracts also frequently produces halos around lights. If I am not mistaking lack of vitamin A may be the cause for halos in the eyes. Have you noticed if you lack of vitamin A? I think that zinc might also influence the halos at night. I think that you might pay attention to your diet and you will be able to solve your problem without any medication. You can try to use supplements to help you restore your minerals in your body sooner. I hope this was helpful in any way.
All the best,
Danella
