So I'm 21 years old and I have been sexually active since I was 16 years old. I've never had a problem with sex before. My newest partner and I have been together for 6 months and for the first 4-5 months everything was fantastic... until recently.
It started a few weeks ago when after sex I would bleed for 2 days and then be back to normal. A week later I bled a few extra days then that. I talked to me gynecologist about it and she suggested that when I take my nuva ring birth control out to just turn around and put a new one back in. Well that worked out okay (other than sleeping a lot that week.)
Okay, so.... last week when we had sex it started to hurt and then when we were done I was bleeding a LOT and when I would pee, it would burn really bad. To this day I am still bleeding (only a small amount) and its been about a week. The amount of blood each day has decreased and the other day we tried having sex and it hurt so bad I almost asked him to stop and it throbbed in a painful way.
Today it isn't bleeding hardly at all but it still worries me because we've been together for 6 months and it just started doing that. I don't know if he's just been too rough recently or if my Nuva Ring is getting rubbed the wrong way... I just had my pap smear 2 weeks ago and everything was fine with the exception of a small bacterial infection which I got rid of with some pills....
Does anyone know what could be the issue here? :-( If so that would be great because I'm concerned and don't have much money or time to go to the doctors all the time. Thanks so much in advance! :-D

It has a LOT to do with hormones! When it went better with you changing the ring! So I know you don't have very much money! BUT if you can get to a free clinic at least to get checked out! Also do you have pain during urinating or pooping?
I only have pain during urination for a few hours after we have sex then it goes back to normal...

2. Are your periods regular?
3. How is your hair?

Okay. :)
1- Nope.
2- Usually, yes. Always start a wednesday morning and done saturday evenings. ( Except this time when the Dr. had me to immediately put my new nuva ring in after taking the old one out... skipped my period for this month)
3- My hair is pretty good.
4- Nope. My job requires a lot of energy. haha.
5- No, I'm pretty energetic and aware, not lethargic. Except after work sometimes, I feel exhausted and drained, but I thought that was normal, especially for my job.

4- Not at all.
5- Nope, not normally. Sometimes though.
6- No, I don't have lethargy, though sometimes I feel lethargic - mostly after work tho which involves taking care and playing with a LOT of kids.
Okay it has apparently been a very long and tiring day for me because I left out question #4 the first time, and thought it erased the whole forum so I re wrote it and ended up having different answers. Forgive me, :$
;-) XD
I just re read your initial question! I have just changed my thought direction! You had a bacterial infection, for which you took pills (I take it they were antibiotics?) I bet dollars to donuts that you have a yeast infection - keeping in mind you don't always have to have discharge and terrible smell! This causes EXTREME pain and sometimes bleeding in the vagina as it is engorged and inflammed from the infection!
So I would like you to make an appointment with your gynecologist - not so much for the yeast infection (becuase usually you can take care of that with over the counter meds) BUT for you to have a swab - just to see if it is yeast infection! And then talk to her/him about changing your contraception! Due to the fact that you had pain before, and when you turned the ring around felt better! I am TOTALLY thinking that it is a wrong combination of hormones for you! I am thinking that you might just need a progesterone only pill! Keeping in mind that these AREN'T as effective BCP as the Mini! BUT they have shown to REALLY releive vaginal dryness! Sometimes you need to change your BC a couple of times before you find a "fit" Either way make an appointment and tell them everything you have told me - becuase regardless of what it is, it's NOT normal! OK? And please let me know how you make out!
