I have had laparoscopic surgery about 4 weeks ago (appendix was removed). Five days ago I have been having intense sharp stabbing & burning pains in my lower left hand abdomen about six inches away from my belly button and two up from the incision.

When I am reclining or standing its fine but if I bend or twist it burns and stings. When I sneeze sitting down the pain is an unbearable stabbing sort. If I wear tight pants and sit the pain is amplified. What's up, I asked my doc he didn't know maybe you do or can give me a few hints.

I have had:
    No lumps
    No tenderness to pressure
No blood in stool or urine
    No loose stools
    No constipation

Also I am a Vegitarian (but I eat fish so I guess that's a pescatarian) who has been on a low carb diet for about a week. This may help I don't know.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I had a laparoscopy for endometriosis and went on a low carb diet, and suffered some severe pain. From what I understand, the low carb diet had cleansed my body of any toxins, including my medication.

I'm not sure if that applies to you, but i thought it might help

I found that after my surgery, I had really bad pain for approximately 8 weeks. The doc told me about a week and i'd be back to normal. If you have an intense sharp pain around any of these incisions, try not to bend, or twist, as usually it is a sign thst it isn't fully healed. A small swab test from the belly-button (as I had done) may also reveal any infections. This may also occur in an allergic reaction to the plasters used. If it is itchy, this is a good sign - but do not scratch. I still get the odd pain from my surgery (which was over a year ago) and some itchiness from around my scars.
In regards to food. Try eating plain food for the first week, as bowel movements can be really painful after stomach muscles have been cut through. Keep fluids up, and maintain normal walking to keep blood stimulated. If any other symptoms occur, consult a physician immediately.
