me and my girlfriend had sex and the condom broke, it go inside of her, shes on a birth control pill, im not sure what kind but she's been on it for like 4 months before we did.. she takes it every night at 9 no more than 20 or 30 minutes off every once in a while how does the pill work and prevent her from pregnancy?

Hi Sky,

Different birth control pills work in different ways.  Some stop her from ovulating, releasing eggs.  Others make it harder for an egg to implant or change the mucous in her vagina so the sperm can't get to the egg.

Taken consistently, as she seems to, they are better than 98% effective.

It's unlikely she'll get pregnant.  If you ever have concerns though, Plan B is an option within 72 hours.  It is not necessary in this case since she's been on the pill.

Hope it helps.
