I'm running my 1st marathon in 6 days and have tendinitis on the top of my foot. Previously I had tendinitis in my calf and Achilles, but it was cured with 2 weeks of ultrasound and electo stim therapy.
I developed my current injury almost a month ago, at the top of my foot and it doesn't want to go away. The pain subsides after the ultrasound therapy, but after running 4 miles the pain returns.
Today I decided to take a more drastic approach, acupuncture. So far, it feels fine, but the doc doesn't want me running this week. I scheduled another treatment the day before the race. He preferred me to wait a week, but can't due to the time sensitivity.
Should I be concerned with acupuncture the day before the BIG race? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
