Alright, I am 14 and recently (last tuesday to be exact) my upper shoulder has hurt really bad! It hurts to throw (I play baseball as a pitcher and i consistently pitch in the lower 80's). It also hurts to move my arm above my head at all. Out of a scale of 1-10 ten being the worst, its probably a 7. I looked it up on line and I found an article about shoulder tendonitus. Is that what I have? Please respond soon, I am the ace starting pitcher and I don't want baseball to be over for me permanantly.
Stop pitching and get this checked. You could be doing permanent damage to your arm. You don't want to risk your future. I know that athletes are frequently encouraged to man-up and deal with the pain. However, this could be a serious injury and it doesn't sound like anyone has looked at it. As a future, successful athlete you have to check everything. You want to have a long and healthy future in sports. That will not happen if you ignore injuries. If it requires some down time, take it. It's better to stop playing for a short period to heal rather than being permanently unable to play. Please see a doctor and stop pitching immediately. Please let us know what happens with you.
