I have read a lot about the dangers of drink spiking, and it seems to be a common theme in crime programs like CSI, Criminal Minds and so on as well. My daughter is only ten years old now but I am already worrying about the time when she will be frequenting clubs and bars! What are the side effects of drink spiking and is there anything that can be done to prevent drink spiking?
The problem with these "date rape drugs" is that they kick in really quickly. One minute, the victim might realize something is not quite the way it should be, and then the next minute, it is already too late and the victim no longer has any control over their actions. The best preventative is to make sure you always go out with a group and watch out for each other. Never accept a drink from a stranger, and never leave your drink unattended.
