I was recently diagnosed with psittacosis. They first diagnose was pneumonia and I was treated as I had it. After they saw that my pneumonia is not getting any better they did another scan of my lungs and they did blood test on psittacosis. They did that test because I told him that I work in the Zoo and that I am in contact with birds. Anyway, they treated me with Doxyciline for a month. The day after I finished therapy I experienced eye twitching and there was something like echo in my ears. I had another blood test yesterday and waiting for results. I hope that it is over with this psittacosis.

I am sorry to hear this. You’ve been struggling with this stressful condition, but I have to tell you it is possible that the psittacosis is still in your system and relapses can occur. I hope you told doctor about new symptoms. It seems to me that is something neurological and it is not uncommon that patient develop neurological conditions after an infection such as psittacosis. Psittacosis is usually spread by inhaling dust from dried droppings from bird cages and by handling infected birds therefore I hope you told to your coworkers about your condition.
