SLE and pregnancy planning – is it even possible? My wife is diagnosed with SLE 3 months ago; she is 30 years old and we do not have children. Since she is suffering from this illness, we would like to know what are our chances for a baby. We tend not to hope much but is there actually hope?
Well, pregnancy in SLE is possible – even though harder then in healthy women. The problem is with hormones. Pregnancy is making a chaos in woman's body a far as hormone levels are concerned and that is making a suitable environment for SLE. It is recommended to start pregnancy in period without SLE attacks.
