Hi. I'm 24 female and I'm a medical student.
During last couple of months last year I had to study very much because I had final exam in he December. I was sleeping approximately only four or five hours per day. My exam went well but I have got some other consequences.
Since then I'm sleeping thirteen or fourteen hors a day and still feel groggy when I do get up.
I would like to get up at seven or eight a clock in the morning like I'm used to doing, but I just can't drag myself out of bed.
Can this be harmful to me?

It can be very difficult to tell how much sleep is enough for because it depends on your age, activities and some other factors.
I was always thinking that the best guide to the sleep time adequacy is the absence of fatigue in the daytime, and I am pretty sure I'm right.
You see, you are sleeping 13 hours and you still feel tired during day. It means that something is wrong. You also shouldn’t sleep less then normal.
This sleep deficit impacts everything from a person's ability to pay attention or to his mood.
I have also read somewhere that sleeping too little or too much may increase risk of diabetes.
So, start to get up earlier in the morning. I know it will be hard in the beginning but after some time, your organism will get use to it because it is much healthier.
