I am so sad that you have suffered so much as a mom. Try to remember that children are on their own path and it is not necessarily anything you did or did not do. Love your son but protect yourself from his erratic, hurtful behavior and concentrate on the other members of your family and your artwork. Good wishes to you.

Hi i have been suffering with chronic pancreatitis for 5 years now....caused by yes alcohol first....PAIN PILLS from an injury MOLDY rental houses.....can't even stand the smell of alcohol.....been in and out of the hospital.....wat got me through.....medical marijuana and a CLEAR LIQUID DIET...i can't even eat a BBQ dinner no RED anything....i still smoke had NO affects on me from smoking.....i drink Mt. Dew....only thing i could drink i couldn't stomach chicken soup broth but i could drink Mt. Dew.couldn't even handle plain water drinking plain water was very painfull...had to drink ensure boost and carnation instant breakfast drinks threatening me with feeding tubes.....every hospital was so quick to just perscribe me more PAIN PILLS i refused they admitted me said my pancreas enzymes were too LOW and gave me potassium magnesium and wat meds i was already in through IV....now that i went to a specislist that actually explained it to me.....your pancreas enzymes are too LOW means they are NOT producing them so they cannot break down the food for me.....so i am currently taking CREON so they can put those enzymes there that was never there in the first place.....again...medical marijuana in studies have proven the fact that the THC RAISES the enzyme count....in my case...if i DIDN'T smoke or eat it then i would have died......i am a survivor because of medical marijuana and i don't care how many negative posts i get on the simple fact....MEDICAL MARIJUANA GIVES YOU THE MUNCHIES.....so you EAT......when your pancreas enzymes are too LOW you CAN'T eat.....FACT......

Hi there,
Ur condition seems similar to mine.. neither i drink too much ( hardly once every 2 weeks ) but was diagnosed with severe pancreatitis.
Well i smoke ciggs and marijuana for over 3 years now and that similar question came to my mind. Did marijuana do this? I would say no. Well i dont know about edibles coz i never had them but smoking has no direct effect on the digestive system.
As of now i have quit smoking ciggs and didn't smoke weed for over 3 months now.
Ciggs are douchebags. Kick them out. At the end of the day i ask myself why am i smoking cigg? It neither gives me any kind of high, nor it has any medicinal effects like weed. Rather its giving ur lungs a tough time every time u smoke them.
Smoke weed instead. A vaporizer would be perfect at this stage. Am thinking of ordering one. :)

Trust me i have experienced this sh*t. I was totally fine after being diagnosed with severe pancreatitis( 2 weeks in the ICU ). 3 months later i thought of having a beer, and 48 hours after having that beer i was hospitalized again.
Since then i dumped drinking totally.

I have just been told that it could either be Sertraline (an SSRI) or marijuana that caused my pancreatitis. I haven't drank any alcohol in 6 months, but I have been smoking more as a way to deal with the social anxiety of going out sober. I've smoked marijuana for 10 years, but in the last 3 years it has significantly helped me with my IBS symptoms.
I've cut out smoking concentrates (shatter, wax, etc.) but I don't want to give up weed all together.
You're post gave me a lot to think about.
How are you doing now?
