I've been reading a lot about reasons for late periods. I'm 18 now, and I started my period when I was 10.... I've never really kept track of it before, but i marked it on my calendar last month. Going by the average cycle, i'm currently between 6-9 days late. One thing I saw was that sexual intercourse, especially when it is a new occurence, can cause an irregular cycle. My boyfriend and I started having sex recently, and that's what made me decide to start keeping track of my period. I read somewhere that worrying about being pregnant or missing a period can cause you to be late, and the day i noticed i was supposed to start and hadn't i started to worry a little. It's not something I'm really constantly worrying about, just a little. It doesn't seem like I'd be worrying enough for it to be a factor. My boyfriend is worrying about it though..
I also read that when you're ovulating it's common to experience an increased sex drive. For the last week I've definitely experienced an increased sex drive, but I don't know if it's because I might be ovulating or because my boyfriend has the flu and we haven't had sex in about a week and a half.
And since I've never kept track of it before, I don't know how long I typically go inbetween each period. Today I have started to worry more about it, which is why I started researching things.
I took a pregnancy test about 2 days after my missed period and it was negative... but the directions on the box said to hold it under urine flow for about 10 seconds, but i wasn't able to urinate for that long... so i didn't know if that could affect the results or not?
Another reason I havent been too worried is because we are safe everytime, and he ususally never ejaculates inside me even with a condom on. (He definitely never has without one). But even so I know there's a chance I could be pregnant.
I don't want my boyfriend worrying about it so much... especially right now since he's got the flu. I was wondering if there's any way or anything that can help start the flow? I'm going to buy another pregnancy test and take it again, but if there's anything that can help bring on your period it'd be a huge help.

I herd that if u eat tropical fruits like papaya and mango it can help and exercise can help. I hve been looking it up as well because im 15 and i started my menstration cycle when i was 12 and last summer i started skipping every other month it scares me. I also read that you can have a hormone deficiancy for these reasons.
Check for gluten intolerances ladies. I had problems like these exactly that later developed into PCOS and fertility issues...all from a long undiagnosed and untreated intolerance to gluten that developed into full blown Celiac disease before I could figure out what it was.
Trust me, you don't want it to get this far.
