hi there.. i've developed a throat condition after a party a month ago. the next day came with alot of throat pain, wich calmed down quite easily, but never went away.

it's been a month now and even though it's not a consistent soreness, my left side of the throat itches, particulary when i breathe, giving me the sensation that the throat is dry. furthermore, i have felt the itchness move around from the left side, to the upper throat, right side, and sometimes it gets more sore than itchy. defying logic, it's actually more confortable to eat something, cause the ithcyness goes away when i do.

after googleing for a while, i'm quite worried it's something serious.

i have to mention that i am/was a casual smoker, aged 17 now, and that i have a mild allergy to wool and dust.

i'm thinking it's an allergy, due to the fact that my ears itch sometimes, and i have a good sneeze every once in a while, but i can't help of thinking of something bad. my doctor said i had a fungus-related sore throat, and reccomended me stamicin(nystanyn), but after 5 days of sucking those awful pills, still nothing.

some advice, please? thanks and pardon my english :$

You may want to consult your doctor and find out if you have mono, although
it very well could be something else. Good Luck!

I have had a lump in my throat for about 2-3 weeks, it is painful when i swallow. It is on the left side of my throat. Its hard to eat as it hurts so much. Surely if it was an infection it should have cleared up by now. Im starting to worry as some mornings it bigger than other mornings. Please help me!!

I had the same thing so I went to urgent care. They referred me to the ER, turns out it was a peritonsillar abscess. They stuck a needle in my tonsil and sucked out about 3cc's of puss and gave me antibiotics. Told me to follow up with a specialist and take more antibiotics. Pain killers, if needed, too. I'd suggest at least having it checked out.

Why does everyone say consul a doctor? Eveyone of course goes to the doctor. I'm researching why I've had a sore throat for two years. Every where I look some people says go to the doctor. If you don't have an answer like the worthless doctors who have no answers then just don't respond.
