This is old so you may not even see it...but I found our answer helpful. I also went thru the"where the heck is this smell coming from?!" ...so dipped a finger in. You're absolutely correct! -no inner smell! But unlike you, I have yet to figure this out...until this. Sounds EXACTLY like what I've been going through!! I'm gonna try the no panties for awhile! Thanks!

There's no reason to be so rude just because he's a male. Get over your self.

In the future you should restrain from trying to be an as****e to someone who is just trying to help because, you information is inaccurate and rude!! Antibiotics are given for yeast infection, a cream can also be prescribed. White or yellow even cottage cheese looking discharge are the first signs of a yeast infection and 8 times out of 10 that's what it is!! Don't speak on what you don't know!!!!

I don't know if you're a professional or not, but most of what you have said is wrong. A yeast infection causes itching and burning and may give out a foul smell as well as an off coloured discharge. White/clear/a bit yellow discharge is normal! Yeast infections don't always necessarily change the colour though

Bacterial vaginitis may be what is going on. Yeast smells more like baked bread and is very itchy.
Also get tested for chlamydia and ghonnorea.

Vaginas pH is naturally acidic, pH levels of between 3-4.5. Most distilled vinegar pH is roughly averaged around 2.4 to give comparison. BV is caused by a RAISED pH, making vagina more alkaline and NOT ACIDIC OR SOUR. That is why it has the notorious FISHY smell. Read about this subject, people.

Some pantiliners, detergents on panties etc can create a more sour smell when discharge comes in contact and sits in a dark moist place. With BV, a natural home remedy often recommended is douching with warm water with a teaspoon or two of apple cider vinegar added. That smells pretty sour. Sour equals lower pH (higher acidity) not higher pH that would indicate BV.
