is there any treatment for spermatucele ?
If spermatocele were small they would usually be left as they are. If spermatocele were big but not causing any trouble, they would be again left alone. Surgery is considered when the spermatocele is causing pain or discomfort.
However, if a patient wants spermatocele removed, he can undergo spermatocelectomy anyway. Sometimes spermatocelectomy does not relieve the pain a patient is feeling.
Spermatocelectomy is a procedure done under local anesthesia. A patient will have his scrotum shaved (or can shave himself). The procedure begins with a scalper, which is used for making an incision in the scrotal skin and then continued with electrocautery to the tunica vaginalis (a membrane that surrounds sides and front of testis). Tunica vaginalis is incised and testicle and epididymis (a tube where the cyst had formed) are taken out of the wound. The next step would be to isolate the spermatocele from the epididymis. If there is a neck attaching spermatocele to the epididymis, then the neck would be tied with a 3-0 absorbable suture and divided. When the spermatocele has been removed, the bleeding is stopped. Both tunica and the skin are closed with absorbable sutures and stitches, gauze and ice pack put on scrotum with an athletic supporter to hold the scrotums and the patient is free to go.
