Hi everyone. I just signed up for golds gym. I plan to do some general weight work on the days i don't run. Im pretty much a beginner runner right now. I started in January. I run one long run on the weekend (a little big more than 6 miles) and two shorter runs on the weekends (4.2 miles). I would like to get my fire fed right from the start and looking for a good sports nutrition book. I did some looking on amazon and there are to many to choose from. What is some of the highly regarded sports nutrition books around here?

I have lifted before so im not a dummy when it comes to sports nutrition but i would like to know more. I just started my session with my sports trainer today and he told me some things i never knew. He told me you should eat every 2-3 hours and that youll have much better results if you do. He said it didn't need to be a large meal just small like nuts, yogurt, ect.. Now id like a book thats not just for the Ultra elite runners which im far from now. I would like to eventually run in a marathon but i have no idea when ill be ready for that. Id also like a book thats nutrution plan is easy to follow for a busy person.

thanks,
ncage
NYCM Cookbook is pretty good. Especially for ideas for variations. It more than gives a basic diet, it gives lots of recipes from runners.

Oh, and welcome aboard!! :wavey:
