Well, if a GP says it is not, I suppose it is not. However, doctors’ opinions often differ and if this hasn’t put your mind at ease, you should see an urologist. The problem is that you probably need a referral from GP to see an urologist.
Did your GP say what s/he thought the lump was? If it is arising from the testicle itself and not from scrotum or between scrotum and testicle, it should certainly be evaluated.
If it is arising from the testicle, it could be spermatocele, a small cyst that contains dead sperm cells and some milky fluid. Another thing that it could be, if small, is anatomical bump since there is a tube on each testicle that is used for sperm storage and it is lumpy. You could have felt it.
But it could also be a tumor but not much can be said without actually seeing the lump.
